As a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), I offer a wealth of life experience, adding to my clinical knowledge. During my time in the Canadian Armed Forces, I experienced stories of addiction, relationship breakdown, and PTSD, which led me to change careers and help people through a counselling lens. During sessions, I strive to provide a caring, safe space, and work collaboratively with each client, to create opportunities for healing and growth on a deeper level. I like to take a holistic approach to therapy, drawing from your unique life experiences, in order to reach your goals. Therapy will be cognitively, emotionally and somatically explorative, using modalities such as CBT, DBT, IFS, Inner Child work and Somatic therapy. Wendy is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Science Psychology from Trent University, and. obtained her Master’ of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Wendy is also a Yoga and meditation teacher. She also has volunteer experience as a victim service worker and a volunteer parole officer assistant. She is passionate about ongoing professional development, and is currently completing certification in somatic therapy.
