Larissa is a registered social worker MSW and psychotherapist who has been practicing for 10 years in Collingwood, Grey & Bruce counties and in London, Ontario.
Larissa has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Windsor, an honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She is a member of the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSS).
Larissa provides psychotherapy and counselling services to individuals, adolescents, couples, and children. She offers individual counselling in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, stress, grief/loss, emotional distress intolerance, shame, and personal growth with a passion for attachment therapy. Larissa has over 10 years of social work experience where she worked for government social services including Ontario Works as a Case Manager. Larissa worked as an employment counselor supporting clients build their strengths and skills for the job market. Larissa worked specifically with adolescents in the educational system and also in a family health team for several years supporting patient’s ranging in age from 6 to 90 years of age.
Larissa is a client centre therapist with a positive psychology perspective believing all human beings have the capacity and ability to grow and heal. She offers a variety of psychotherapy techniques to meet the needs of her clients. These include Cognitive Behavioural, EMDR, Attachment Therapy, Behavioural, Interpersonal, Solutions-Based and Narrative Therapy– to name a few.
Larissa’s diverse career in social work and as a journalist allows her to support with ease clients from all walks of life. She has a passion for helping those in need and emphasizes the importance of building relationships with all of her clients in an attempt to ensure a consistent feeling of safety and kindness.
