I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Dalhousie University and previously completed a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of Waterloo.

With over 12 years of experience in the field, I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based psychotherapy for adults, with a particular focus on first responders and others working in high-stress, trauma-exposed professions. My approach integrates Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and trauma reprocessing techniques to support recovery from operational stress injuries, trauma exposure, sleep disruption, and cumulative stress.

My work is grounded in both professional and personal understanding of first responder culture. I have attended mental health–related calls alongside police in previous roles, and I also have a personal connection to the first responder community through my husband, who is a firefighter. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the realities of the job; the responsibility, the unpredictability, the dark humour, the loyalty to the team, and the challenge of carrying difficult experiences while continuing to serve others.

I approach therapy not from the perspective that someone is “broken,” but from the belief that mental health care is an important tool for career longevity, operational readiness, and overall well-being. My goal is to provide a space where first responders and their families can process difficult experiences, strengthen coping strategies, improve sleep and stress management, and stay connected to the roles and relationships that matter most.

If it feels like a good fit, I would be happy to connect, answer any questions you may have, and explore how we might work together.
