Claire Langridge (She/Her)

CYC Cert, RSSW, Registered Social Worker
Counsellor's Gender: Woman
Ethno-Racial Identity: White
My name is Claire Langridge. I have supported individuals and families as a clinical Child and Youth Counsellor for almost 30 years and have worked as an Addiction Clinician for 14 years. I am a member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care, registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as a Clinical Assistant working under the supervision of a registered Psychologist. As a counsellor, you will find me to be sensitive, caring, honest and direct. I am creative in my approach to helping clients increase their connection to self, supporting clients in feeling their feelings and improving their relationships with others. I am known for my dynamic, energetic and outgoing personality, and I create positive, trusting relationships with my clients. I incorporate many perspectives, and I am client-focused. I believe my client is the expert on what it means to be them, and I am honoured to be part of their journey. I always work from a strength-based perspective. When working with parents, I believe that parents can be the most powerful positive/negative influence on a child’s life. The quality of the parent/child relationship should allow for mistakes and learning on both sides so that a family can have relationships that are loving and respectful.
