Bozena Tutaj
Bozena is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master's degree in Clinical and Developmental Psychology and more than 30 years of clinical experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has worked in community mental health, school-based mental health, and private practice. Her work across these settings has given her particular expertise in supporting adolescents, emerging adults, and adults through the emotional, developmental, and relational challenges that arise across different stages of life. She has extensive experience helping individuals process and recover from distressing and traumatic experiences using EMDR and other evidence-based approaches.
She believes that effective therapy begins with genuine compassion, a thoughtful understanding of the complexity of each client's experiences, and a trusting therapeutic relationship. She strives to help people better understand themselves, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving them, and develop the confidence and skills needed to create lasting change. Her calm, thoughtful, and practical approach helps clients feel safe exploring difficult experiences while gaining greater self-understanding, resilience, and confidence. In her work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, Bozena helps clients better understand and manage anxiety, stress, and depression, recover from trauma, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. She also helps clients address relationship challenges, parenting concerns, life transitions, grief, self-esteem concerns, and difficulties with emotion regulation. Drawing on more than three decades of clinical experience, Bozena integrates evidence-based therapies to meet each client's unique needs and goals. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and DBT-informed skills.
In addition to her clinical practice, Bozena provides clinical supervision and education for emerging mental health professionals and healthcare trainees, reflecting her commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning.
Bozena offers both in-person and virtual therapy. Her office is located in the Lorne Park neighbourhood of Mississauga and is easily accessible to clients from Mississauga, Oakville, Etobicoke, and surrounding communities.
