fees & Payment for psychological Services
Payment for services is due at the end of every session and a receipt will be given when payment is received. Please retain this receipt for your insurance or income tax claims, if applicable.
Generally clients pay for their sessions at the end of each visit. In this way, the account remains manageable and counselling becomes a naturally budgeted expense. Your fee will be discussed with you during the intake interview and you will be advised before hand if any changes are made to the fee. All efforts are made to provide affordable psychological services.
Currently our fee schedule ranges from $150 to $220 per hour depending on the services provided and the counsellor assigned. Some therapists are open to discuss fee reduction arrangements. Most therapists are open to adjust treatment schedules to accommodate financial means.
Fees may be paid by cash, cheque, Mastercard or Visa.
Insurance Coverage for counselling services
Our services are covered by most extended insurance plans (e.g., Blue Cross etc.). Psychological services are not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan).
Extended health plans can differ. Please check your insurance plan regarding coverage and claim procedures (e.g., whether or not a letter or referral from your physician is required, details required on receipts, amount per person per calendar year etc.).
Fees are set according to the time and nature of the service involved plus the training and experience of the provider. All fees charged follow the guidelines set by the Ontario Psychological Association for psychological consultation and counselling. Fees will be discussed with you during the intake interview.
